Me and my folks

Since the day I was born, I've been spending quality time with my parents, Nina and Dylan. We hang out at home together in Brooklyn and I'm getting to know them pretty well. They love to take lots of pictures of me doing different stuff....

like lying on the bed,

sitting on the bouncy ball with dad,

or watching him shave.

This is mom wearing me in a sling. It's cozy.

And here we are relaxing on the couch with Sneakers.

Mostly, my parents like to hold me and give me kisses. I like being held.

Family visit

I haven't been many places yet, just Manhattan and Brooklyn. It takes some time before little people can go on big adventures. I've been told that there are wonderful people all over the world who know about me and already love me. I really want to meet all of them. Luckily, in the past few weeks some of these friends and family have been able to pay me a visit. I'll just name a few...

Mor Mor and Geddo (that means Grandma and Grandpa in Swedish and Lebanese). They come over a lot and always tell me how sweet I am.

Some of my daddy's cousins came over one Sunday: Kate, Jenny and John from Texas, and Samy and Yazan from NYC. They took turns holding me and were all so nice. I watched them eat bagels and then we went for a walk in the park.

This is my Aunt Dominique who visited me from Philadelphia. She promised one day to teach me how to throw a fast ball!

Pretty soon I'll start to make visits of my own. In a couple of days, we are going to my mommy's hometown in New Jersey to celebrate a holiday called Thanksgiving. Then in January I'll be taking my first airplane to meet my family and friends in my daddy's home state of Texas!

My parents told me I can get my first pair of cowboy boots to go with this outfit when we are in Austin.

I can't wait to see the world and meet more nice people. I think that makes me a people-person.  - Roxy

Special gifts

I've received so many wonderful gifts from kind people, welcoming me to the world. Just the other day I received a beautiful handmade sweater and bunny rabbit from our family friends, Thana and Giri. The sweater has stars on it and since my name means star, it couldn't be more perfect.

It also fits me well, which is not the case with most of my clothes since I'm such a little person. The bunny fits me perfectly too.

My buddy, Sneakers gave me many nice compliments on my new outfit. - Roxy

Nap time in the morning

There are some things I am already really good at. Napping is one of them. I like to nap at all times of the day. One of my favorite times is after my morning feeding. My parents put on some relaxing music, place me in my bassinet and set me by the window where the light is soft and warm.

I start to get very sleepy, and before too long...

I slip into a deep slumber and dream of all the secret things that babies dream of.

It's a very peaceful time for me.  -Roxy

Splish splash, I was taking my first bath

Recently my umbilical cord came off and the doctor said I was now ready for my first submerged bath. I didn't know what to expect exactly, I thought it might be like when I was in mommy's tummy, all warm and cozy. Boy was I wrong. Bath time was anxiety inducing to say the least, for both me and mommy. Daddy kept his cool because he was excitedly taking pictures of me, which made me even more mad! But I am glad he did.

When the bath was finally over, I was rather chilly and wanted to get dressed but dad said we had to take a few more pictures...

So I put on my best face.

Mommy and Sneakers helped me pick out a cute outfit.

And I was finally able to relax on the bed. At the end of it all, bath time wasn't so bad.  - Roxy

First Halloween ANd! First trip to Prospect Park

Mom, Dad, and Sneakers took me to the park for the first time today. It was a beautiful fall day and a holiday called Halloween. I saw a lot of spooky stuff when I was awake. Even though I was really tired and slept a bunch, it still felt so nice to be outside in the fresh air. They said next year I can dress up in a special costume.  -  Roxy

My best friend

I haven't been around for very long. Just over a week now but I've already made a new best friend. Her name is Sneakers and she's my fairy dog-mother. Sneakers has been nothing but sweet to me since my arrival home. Mom says that when she was in labor, Sneakers was a little scared and anxious... she knew something major was in the works. When we got home from the hospital Sneakers was very excited but quickly learned to stay calm when near me, since I'm so tiny. She gives me kisses on my toes and likes to sniff my head and ears. Even when I cry at night and mom or dad bring me into another room, she follows us and patiently watches until I calm down and go back to sleep. We love each other.
