First Halloween ANd! First trip to Prospect Park

Mom, Dad, and Sneakers took me to the park for the first time today. It was a beautiful fall day and a holiday called Halloween. I saw a lot of spooky stuff when I was awake. Even though I was really tired and slept a bunch, it still felt so nice to be outside in the fresh air. They said next year I can dress up in a special costume.  -  Roxy

My best friend

I haven't been around for very long. Just over a week now but I've already made a new best friend. Her name is Sneakers and she's my fairy dog-mother. Sneakers has been nothing but sweet to me since my arrival home. Mom says that when she was in labor, Sneakers was a little scared and anxious... she knew something major was in the works. When we got home from the hospital Sneakers was very excited but quickly learned to stay calm when near me, since I'm so tiny. She gives me kisses on my toes and likes to sniff my head and ears. Even when I cry at night and mom or dad bring me into another room, she follows us and patiently watches until I calm down and go back to sleep. We love each other.

Roxanne's debut

My name is Roxanne. My name is of Persian origin and means star, bright & dawn. I was born just before dawn at 6:18 am,  on October 22, 2010. I weighed in at 6 lbs 8 ounces, was 20 inches long and I had a full head of beautiful silky hair.

My Name

"I guess you are kind of curious as to who I am,

Perhaps it was raining very hard. That is my name.

Perhaps there was a game you played when you were a child or
something that came idly into your mind when you were old and sitting in
a chair near the window. That is my name.

Or you walked someplace. There were flowers all around.
That is my name

Perhaps you stared into a river. There was somebody near you who loved
you. They were about to touch you. You could feel this before it happened.
Then it happened. That is my name.

Or you heard someone calling from a great distance.
Their voice was almost an echo.
That is my name.

Perhaps you were lying in bed, almost ready to go to sleep and you laughed
at something, a joke unto yourself, a good way to end the day.
That is my name.

Or you were eating something good and for a second forgot
what you were eating, but still went on , knowing that it was good
That is my name." (Brautigan)

But you can call me Roxanne
